About Forró New York
Forró New York is a New York City-based educational and cultural project dedicated to forró classes, events, festivals, online courses, and the creation of educational content related to Brazilian music and partner dancing.
Founded in 2017, the project combines dance, musicality, rhythm studies, creativity, and cultural exchange through weekly classes, workshops, festivals, performances, online learning resources, and media production.
Over the years, Forró New York has developed an international community through in-person activities in New York City and a growing collection of online educational content, including videos, playlists, interviews, musical projects, and reflections about forró culture and social dancing.
